These steps must be performed by the person who wishes to share his/her email, calendar, etc.

  1. Click TOOLS --> OPTIONS

  2. Double-click SECURITY

  3. Click the Proxy Access tab, then click the Address Book button

  4. In the Look in: field, choose the address book you want to use. In the Match: field, you can choose Name, First Name, Last Name, Department, or email address. Choose the one you want to search by. In the Look for: field, type in the search string. Once you have found the user you want to give access to, double-click that user to place him/her in the Selected: field. You can repeat this process as many times as there are users you wish to grant access. Once you are done, click the OK button.

  5. Next, click on the user you added, and this will allow you to then give that user the access rights to read/send emails, appointments, notes, and tasks. You can also specify whether or not you want that user to be able to receive your alarms and notifications, to be able to create and modify “out of the office rules,” and whether to allow them to read items sent to you which are marked “private.” Choose the appropriate items, click the OK button, then close the Options window.

These steps must be completed by the user to whom you have given proxy access.

  1. Log onto GroupWise the way you would normally

  2. Ensure that you appear ONLINE

  3. Click the small drop down arrow directly to the right of the word Online, then click Proxy.

  4. Click the Address Book button, then search for the user whose email you wish to view. Click the name to highlight it, then click the OK button.

  5. Click the drop down arrow next to Online again, and click on the name of the user whose email you wish to view.

  6. Depending on the rights given to you by the mailbox owner, you may not be able to reply to, forward or delete emails, appointments, etc.
