I'm most excited about giving a digital camera to my son. Although he has asked for a camera, I don't think he is expecting one quite this nice.

It's a Canon Powershot A560; 7.1 megapixels, 4x Optical zoom. Not a terribly expensive camera but it's better than Mom's.

He's expecting a really cheap camera with no zoom, no memory card, etc. And he is only 13.

That's the trouble with you Bob Cratchit; all you think about is pleasure and squandering money!

Canon makes awesome cameras. Id say one of the main things to think about when giving a camera to a kid is durability. My first camera (an old konica minolta) which was like a tank. No matter what I did to that thing it never broke. Looking back it was great having a camera because now I have over 10K pictures online dating all the way back to high school.

Well.. among the many creative things I have found for my -victims- family and friends there is one I am pretty interested in seeing the reaction upon opening.

My daughter wears those string thong scraps of material cleverly marketed as underwear.

I am making her a DIY thong kit. Which so far consists of a bunch of different fabric triangles and a container of dental floss.

:D

Inspired by an article I read in the Seattle Times this morning, I walked into a Quizno's this afternoon and simply paid for the sandwiches ordered by the first person in line and left. I've never seen her before and I'll probably never see her again, but she told me she'd been having a bad day and that my gesture really made her day. When I refused to take any money or anything, she promised to pay it forward and left.

Her promise to pay it forward really made my day. :-)
