Alrighty, then! So we're gamers... what kind/type/platform of game are you addicted to? Let's get the mouse-ball rolling here!
Me, I'm addicted to anything from Sid Meyer. BIG TIME Civ-fanatic. Eliminations are my specialty. No, I don't play well with others. heh! heh!
I'm also fond of anything strategy or "city-building"... don't know why, but from "Pharaoh" to "Age of Empires" to Civilization I,II,III,IV - you name it I'm hooked.
Don't care about RPG's, and first-person shooters bore me spitless. But for some reason I refuse to get rid of my old Dune 2000 and StarCraft. Eh, go figure...

My original addiction was Wetrix - anyone ever play this game?

Followed closely by: Geometry Wars, Halflife, Super Smash Brothers, and Resident Evil 4.

I was never very good at StarCraft - but man, what a hectic, intense game.

I'm not big on RTS's. I'm currently addicted to Halo 3 and Bioshock. I've been into Half-life and HL2, soon will be checking out Team Fortress 2 and Portal. I also get addicted to the RPG genre. I've been caught playing Nevewinter Nights (all expansions) and NWN 2, Oblivion, Titan's Quest, Evercrack I and II, WOW had me for a spell also, and I've also even delved into Saint's Row. I will usually try anything once. And I am heavy into beta testing.

For anybody who is interested in Bioshock or Halo 3, you should definitely check out these hilarious (but - be warned - explicit) videos by Zero Punctuation:

My first video game live would have to be Marble Madness on Nintendo? Did anyone else like this game?

As for my all time favorite games they would be in this order:

1. Mario 64

2. Half-Life

3. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo

4. Mortal Kombat 2

5. Mario Kart

I like Joint Operations Combined Arms. I use the International Conflict MOD. I joined the International Conflict Tournament for a few campaigns (I believe they are up to 200 man servers now - 100 on each army), however, Real Life had to take priority which limited my time to participate. However, I still get into the servers to got a few rounds with pubbies. Other than that I played Americas Army for a while and FEAR.

Nintendo all the way...I've owned them all from the original NES to Super NES, Nintendo64, and Gamecube; no Wii yet. Had some gameboys (okay, so the kids had the gameboys but they were pretty good about sharing). I am dying for a DS Lite, coral pink, of course, and the new Zelda. My faves are Zelda, Super Mario, and Donkey Kong. I like the RPGs as long as they are not terribly violent, bloody and gory. I also like puzzle games like Tetris. I would love to try out the new Brain Age games. I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer; it's just something fun to do when I have time.

Playstation is my bag. I have over 80 games and counting. Gonna get the PS3 soon. I love the Ratchet and Clank series, it's just rife w/ humor and, of course, action. Been a Half-Life fan since it's first release. I like the third-person shooters like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Mercenaries, RTX: Redrock, Armored Core. Also, anything w/ robots in combat. Oh yes, and Samurai killing zombies (Onimusha), Metal Gear Solid series. Hitman, Hitman, Hitman, lol. Loved Blood Money, can't wait for the Movie to come out.

Question? Do you play your favorite games over and over or do you trade them in for the latest, greatest game once you've "beaten" it?

I like to play the games over and over. See in Mario and Donkey Kong, there are little surprises hidden everywhere and I like to go through and find all of them. My son is the exact opposite. He gets a game and plays it until he "beats" it and then he's done with it. He'll trade it in for credit towards another game. He has maybe four to six games at any one time. But I have to say for a 13 year old, he is pretty good about getting store credit and earning cash to buy his games. I certainly wouldn't have been able to buy him all the games he has had over the years.

I'd been primarily a PC gamer although I owned and sometimes play console games -- Nintendo 64, Xbox, PS2, and PSP. Currently, I've been playing the online PC RTT (Real Time Tactical) game World in Conflict as well as the multi-player FPS (First Person Shooter) Call of Duty 4. Occasionally, I play the multi-player Command and Conquer series of RTS games --- CnC Generals: Zero Hour, CnC 3: Tiberium Wars and another RTS game --- Company of Heroes: Opposing Forces in multi-player mode.
I think PC games have more flexibility, replayability, and depth than most console games.

I am a PS/PS2/PS3 gamer. Love fighters, shooters and racers. My buddies and I still have Tekken parties. The downside is the abysmal release of games since the PS3 came out. Plus, I haven't gotten online with anything yet. Hopefully Gran Turismo will change that. I am a skeptic and won't accept crappy games on the PS3 that just look like refurbished PS2 stuff....

I prefer RTS games, but I also really like FPS. I used to be a console only gamer but lately I have been doing only PC games, I also like playing my PSP - God of War, FF Tactics, Brave Story, Socom, it has a lot of great games. But I still enjoy PC games more, if you have a computer that can handle them, most games look better on the PC and contol better too. I have been totally addicted to Medieval 2 lately, I can't wait for Empire.

Don't worry about the world ending today, for it is already tomorrow in Australia.

I'm the nerd who owns every console.  Hell, I even bought 4 xboxs so that my poor 15 friends could all play Halo together.  Plus, I'm a LAN whore.  Even been to MLG Dallas a couple of times and QuakeCon 3 times.  So obviously I'm addicted to FPS or shooters in general.  I've played in a lot of clan battles so that I don't get bored with them.  I do play other genres though.  I'm mad addicted to RTSs of any sort.   The one I'm playing right now is Sins of a Solar Empire.  Their races aren't exactly even but its just so fun to have multiple units.  Supreme Commander was great about that too.  Kinda annoying when you're in a match and ur deadlocked because you and the opponent both throw 15 nukes at each other to no avail.
