Posted about 1 month ago I am a tech in Wisconsin and I received an e-mail this morning from a company called itenol. I was asked if I wanted to sign up with them as an independent contractor, which I have done, and I was wondering if anyone had done any work for them? If the pay is acceptable? If they treated you fairly? I'm curious because I have already signed up with a several dozen vendors and marketplaces. Most of these are "dead wood" as far as I am concerned. What I mean by that is they 1) pay crap, 2)don't pay when they say they will, or 3) are generally difficult to have a business relationship. Familiar? Welcome to to IT business! If any one has done any work for them please relate your experience good or bad. Thanks, -Ms. R.

Posted about 1 month ago Did you research the company prior to applying? Most of the un-requested email I get like that research first. Of the few I have resonded to, I have not heard from them.

Posted about 1 month ago I did some research and they are a start up company. They want to be the solution to IT headaches, ITenol, get it? Sounds kinda cheesy to me, but actually did some work for a company called DataJanitors. Hilarious name, actually kind of embarassing.

Posted about 1 month ago LOL, I know what you mean. I did a WHOIS on them, and the last time the site was registered or updated was in 2008. I just don't trust a lot of the start up companies; remember the (dot) COM companies of the past? I never trusted them, but this is coming from someone whose first course in computers was with punch cards. I hope you don't remember them.

Posted about 1 month ago I received a reply a couple of days ago and they sent a W9 and an application. They pay $40 per hour with a $20 trip fee for up to an hour travel. Not great, but I've done worse. What really made me decide to pass was two things, 1)They have no email or phone number to ask questions. 2) they want you to to have an assigned email address provided by them. What wrong with the 5 email addresses I already have. The fact they seem to be telling me alot of things but not allowing me to ask any questions make them sound kinda bossy, like they want an employee without paying any benefits. Don't ask any questions and be thankful we send you anything. I already have a bunch of those. From the research I did they seem to pivoting their marketing as a cost saving solution. (read:beware, you will be paid crap) I say go find ya cheap labor elsewhere. I'll continue studying for my CCNA, time better spent. I received my CCENT last May. Because I studied and passed the test. And I have advertised that fact. I have received alot of work I would have received otherwise. And a lot of work one would not know how to do with the certifiecation. It makes your brain hurt, but it good kinda hurt! But my wallet feels better.

Posted about 1 month ago Punch cards are a little before my time, okay like 20 years. The first computer I ever saw was an IMSAI 8080 kit computer. It was 1976. I was 14.

Posted about 1 month ago What grade were you in in 1976? I went to high school from 1972-1976 and there is where I was introduced to the punch card system. GAWD I am feeling old.
