computer turns on and off

Posted about 1 month ago IF a computer turns on and off and won't get to the start up screen, what is wrong with it and how can I fix it? |

| Posted about 1 month ago There could be any number of reasons why this would happen. Bad OS to problems with the heat sink to name a few. I would certainly need more specific information to properly diagnose the problem and give a resolution. The last time that I dealt with a situation like this the problem was a virus.

| Posted about 1 month ago could be bad memory, or failing power supply, or curupt boot sector... can you get into the BIOS? if so change the boot sequence to CD. and boot to a diag cd, like Techie toolz, or ultimate boot cd, or a hard drive diag disk. run some tests from there |

| Posted about 1 month ago Thanks. I am not on that project anymore. I would say it's a virus. Because the power supply was replaced. The guy that was talking to me about it said he was going to put a different hard drive in the machine to see if he could get to the problem. |
