Posted 2 months ago Hey all, Just a quick question. I'm looking at buying a custom built gaming desktop, and wanted some opinions. The one I'm looking at consists of an IBM midsize tower, Pentium 4 processor, 4 GB RAM, Radeon 9250 graphics card, and has Win XP installed. it includes flat panel monitor and mouse/keyboard for $250...Is this a good deal? Thanks for any info! |

| Posted 2 months ago This is really simple the video card and the processor is obviously obsolete. And the value of a computer is really equal to 50$. The real truth about this is, this could go into recycling. The harddrive is going to be slower than SATA, the processor is slower than a duo core of anykind, and the RAM would also won't be as fast a newer DDR2 high frequency or DDR3. On Dell outlet ( www.dell.com/us/en/dfh/desktops/ct.aspx ) you can get a refurbhised Inspiron 545 $389.00 or
Inspiron 545
Piano Black
Intel Pentium Dual Core - 2700
Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium
500 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
6000
DVD/RW
better :
Inspiron 545
Piano Black
Intel Core 2 Quad - 2330
Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium
1 TB SATA II Hard Drive (7200RPM) 3.0Gb/s, 32MB Cache
4000
DVD/RW
You can also have a 20 inches widescreeen panel for an addition of 119 and this is a great deal, if you don't like Vista you can also downgrade to XP Pro using a OEM Dell CD which is great also. It is low cost as good as new, guaranteed also, and with specification far more superior than a Pentium 4 IBM. |

| Posted 2 months ago Yeah I agree. I can get better for the money. I've also been looking at barebones kits too. |
