Anyone actually think these are worth the time?

- Sun Certified OpenOffice.org Writer Specialist (CX-310-600)

- Sun Certified OpenOffice.org Calc Specialist (CX-310-610)

- Sun Certified OpenOffice.org Impress Specialist (CX-310-620)

I am a big fan of open source, and personally use OpenOffice and carry a copy of OpenOffice Portable on my keychain.

But do you really think anyone will care if I am an Certified OpenOffice.org Specialist?

Personally I use OpenOffice, and think it is a great alternative to MS Office, but is it worth any effort at all to "certify" on it?

There used to be Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) certification. But I have lost track of the "official" Microsoft endorsed certification. for office. Even when MS, there are so many certs now.

Goes back to the question, what good is any certification, especially when a lot of agencies and employers give a test to your knowledge in an area you are already certified.

Also brings a question to mind, when you have a lot of certs, A+, Network+, iNet+, MCP, CNA, etc., etc., does it make you look like someone who is committed to their profession? Or someone who just likes to takes tests?
