In the library the sign says "shut the f..k up"! I bought a waterbed and found a guy at the bottom of it. And one more...I put my hand in some cement and felt another hand.

Another creature half on land and half in the water.  (I presume the eggs must be dry to hatch.)  Born on land, but must live in the water, yet cannot leave the land and its air completely for it needs both to live too.  A creature tied to littoral.

I personally am a creature that lives half free to roam the land and half sitting at my desk.  I go to another room to eat, sleep and occasionally read, but I must daily return to the desk to survive.  It doesn't sound too different from the alligator.

No doubt about it, MB.  The wilderness calls.  The wife and I are off to Mono Lake and Mammoth Lakes in the Eastern Sierra Nevada next week to contemplate nature and to hopefully not get snowed in.  (My breadwinner would miss work, otherwise I wouldn't care.)  They could easily get an early snow fall and I don't have my big red4WD truck anymore.  We're taking the wife's car.  The CHP (California Highway Patrol) makes no attempt to keep Tioga Pass (through the Yosemite high country) open once he snows begin. 

So, you couldn't stay away.  This is great.  It is great to have you back.
