I take solace in the simple things too. As a man, that's about all I can hope to aspire too. Fast cars, nekkid ladies, good wine, good whiskey. Life is good. |

| Posted 5 months ago Enabler, you mention your wife's martial arts training, so I thought I'd pass along my experience with that sort of thing... you see, several years back, my wife decided that she wanted to go through POST (Police Officer's Standards and Training). Let's just say that without my having been in jail, I think I've been handcuffed, face-planted in the grass, tossed around like a rag doll etc... more than most Felons. yes, there is a lighter side to it... When she went in to take her test, after having practiced on me (5'10" ish and a sturdy 200 lbs), her CO assigned her to the smallest guy in the class (somewhere around 130 lbs). Her first maneuver slammed this poor guy onto the mat so hard, it knocked the wind out of him for some 30 seconds, after which her CO pulled his glassess down on his face a tad and said "... you know Oldroyd, if you kill him I'll have to fail you..." :) So, needless to say, I mind my P's and Q's as well, ;) And one last AMEN to the Fast cars, Nekkid women, and hi-potency spirits sentiment.
Oh, and I taught her to shoot a rifle. Believe it or not, she had never looked down the barrel before her academy training and was not even familiar with the sights concept. We got her a nice .22 caliber rifle with simple sights and went out a field on the other side of the mountain (yes, via horseback). We stopped in a field of browneyed susans and I proceeded to set up a couple of targets. A bit of explanation, several rounds of practice and the targets were well used. She looked at me and said ".. ok now what shoud I shoot at?" A bit sarcastically, I pointed out into the field and said, "... there, that tall one in the foreground..." I was thinking that she would target the large brown button in the center... One shot and she stands " I got it..." with a glee in her eye. I looked over and it was stil all in one piece and I turned to her and said, "which one were you aiming at sweetheart?" With a quick motion she points at the one in the front that we had been discussing and as she begins to say "... I was aiming at the stem..." it topples over, about an inch below the petals. True story, and I quit taking her, she shoot better than I do now...

| Posted 5 months ago Okay, as I understand your situation, you've got a woman that can take you down bare handed and can shoot a rifle better than you. Moldy, you're in deep. And, yes, you'd better mind your p's and q's. Hahahahahahahahahahah. Okay, that hurt. |

| Posted 5 months ago Ya...Danka schoen Barry. Does thank you count in another language? I think that I went blind whiel reading that last post, just glad I wasn't looking through a scope......can't imagine what shape poor Paula is in right now. Probably deaf, blind, and walking in circle while mumbling some incoherent jibberish as a part of her traumitization. You might want to close those blinds before you get a ticket for indecency. I joke...I joke....I kid...I kid. :oP |

| Posted 5 months ago I don't know, with the popularity of that particular ...ummmm... cross-class programming, it could be more popular that we might assume... |

| Posted 5 months ago Across class programming. The Family Guy? I'd bet on it. (What's the ACLU's number?) |

| Posted 5 months ago Yeah, by "Cross Class Programming" I was referring to the fact that "Family Guy" tends to play to more that just a few Prime-Time demographics. At my previous place of employment, I don't recall too many that hadn't or didn't watch it, and that ranged from several "young" entry-level employees to several 'older' professional employees (and even researcher/educational types). So, judging from that, I'd say it was a popular show for a larger cross-section of the population geeze, a lot of explanation for just that... |
