is it just me, or have the spammers gotten bored with just email spam. It seems as if they are spamming on our forums too! They pick a random topic and spam away! This irritates me!

What irritates me is that there seems to be no way to report or stop it. I don't know of any forum moderators here. About the only thing we can do is ignore them. You are not alone!

Spam it's not just a congealed foodstuff anymore!.....Now your computer has to choke it down too.

Seriously though, I've noticed the trend picking up well over a year ago. Maybe it just took them a while to find this site? Dunno.

I do the same thing, and they don't go away. I also give them a thumbs down at the same time.

That's a great picture of people at a Spam Jam. Yes, fairs, or jams are actually put together surrounding the celebration of Spam. I thought that it was some new product when I heard the name Spam Jam, you know like some  product along the lines of strawberry jam, except with spam as the main ingredient. Hmmmmm......I'm thinking that I just gave spam a new product to market. Don't mistake the previous hmmmmmmm with an mmmmmmm. lol.

I don't like either kind of spam, not in a can, not on my screen. Not in my hand, not in my spleen.

Honestly, I am not much of a meat eater, and spam is toooooooooooooo salty for me, and rather gelatinous. If I have to, I will eat it, but typically I go meatless out of preference. Not a vegan, I do eat meat on occasion, I just do not prefer it.

the gelatin can be gotten rid of by frying.  your right, it is tooooooooooo salty.  thats why they make ketchup.  also, there is nothing wrong with being a vegan.  i personally hate liver.  love those carrots.  don't you just love how we got off topic.  spam at its best.

I agree spam is so salty that it hurts the taste buds. However, I will acknowledge it's benefits to the troops, and if needed in that situation, suppose it could be consumed, not happily, but out of necessity. Hats off to all those who had to consume it during the Big One a.k.a. WWII.

LoL, Shadowguard, MRE's and such were not the best, but when that is all you have you eat it with relish (ok, maybe no relish was available [being silly]).

I didn't know Soam was a part of the ration. Good to know.

SPAM is a survival dish, then. Who really knows ;-)

Best way to reduce the salt content would be do boil it. I never try.

Spam may have begun as a survival dish but it has lot's of possibilities.  The most basic recipe is to slice it thinly, saute lightly on both sides in a light olive oil (extra virgin is too strong), an season with a hint of Tabasco (to taste), and of course no extra salt is needed as already noted.  Serve as a side with eggs, or as a replacement for hamburger when bbq'ing.  Yum.  (I think I need to go camping.)

You can also smoke it.  I bought a Green Egg (great name) smoker about a year ago.  Let the Spam sit for about a day a 200 degrees and you've got... smoked Spam!  Try that with eggs too.

Hmm..............spam on the Internet, spam in a can, both equal a survival method. Businesses spamming to try and survive in the market, the food product given to people to survive. Interesting relationship.
