Ok, fess up, describe your dream car. I have two so I will start.

'57 Chevy, convertible, candy apple red. Lots of chrome! (you know, girls like shiny things), automatic, V-8 small block, White wall tires, red and white interior.

'78 Chevy Pick-up, Cadillac Black, Short Bed Step side, Chrome Roll Bar, black interior, bucket seats in the bed with 5 point seat belts, 4x4, no emblems, just chrome and black. Haven't decided on the engine yet, I will let someone else do that for me .

Only problem is she complanes about the money. She threw a fit last week when I bought a new toolbox, so what it only cost $6,000.00 it was a steal. Lots of chrome, shinny.

That and she just gets in the way.

When I get a proper place, I will be doing the same thing. I still try and gather what tools I can, now.

Lmao, boys and their toys............wait, I can't say that. I grew up around race cars and big trucks, the roar of an engine makes

me tremble. Nothing like it. Yup, I am a fish of a different color.

I can't believe that I had a Ford Pinto come into the shop today. I thought those rust buckets had gone to the scrap yard years ago.

If you want a cool car to pick up the ladies, you need a 69 Camaro with a 400 in it. With a good Black Rose paint job and dual exhaust with chrome tips. Lay some rubber down and the girls will come..........speaking from experience...................

OK, after having read through the postings, I have to say that there are some nice dreams there.  I got side-tracked down memory lane when the Valiant and Vegas were brought up.  Reminds me of my younger days.  I don't know if you'll remember the old Pinto.  A friend of mine and I took one of those and dropped in a small block Chevy built to the gills.  It was interesting to say the least, and really tested our ability to "see out of the box."  When we finished, though, about the only thing on her that was still even close to stock was the shell of a body that we left attached (so that we could say that we built a Pinto).  Had to re-do some of the frame to fit in the engine (oh and the firewall and floors were... well NOT stock).  But she was a fun ride.  You should have seen some of the 'looks' that we would get when out for a ride.  Ranging from full on laughter down to annoyance (that is, until we left the line).

Ok, enough of the memory lane...  If you're going to have a dream car, I do have to agree with Enabler a Ferrari is one way to go.  Or, there are a couple of Lamborghinis that I would consider in the running as well (like a Diablo would be nice).

However, trying to satisfy my 'green' side as well as my 'need for speed' side, I think that at the moment, my top pick would have to be a Tesla Motors Roadster

A few things to be said here...  First, this is an ALL ELECTRIC vehicle.  So, you get torque from 0 rpm to 14K rpm.  Though the engine is rated at a mere 248 hp, you have to settle for a torque of 276 ft/lbs.  Maybe I mentioned that the redline on this babe is 14K.  he he...  Perhaps the most quoted spec for "Muscle" cars (or sports cars for that matter) is the 0-60 time.  At 4 seconds, you can imagine that there isn't too many problems beating people off of the line.  The only drawback is that you only get about 220 miles per charge (not really a drawback unless you are planning long trips - for work and back, that is plenty of charge, right?)

So, any votes for 'green for speed' ???  :)

Moldy01 - I certainly could learn to live with "green speed".  220 miles per charge isn't too bad and would certainly cover most day trips.  And Telsa is real big around the SF Bay Area right now.  I've seen a few on the highways.  Lots of young millionaires with cash to burn.
