Well, they just finished up at today's Macworld keynote... Here's ArsTechnica's liveblog http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20090106-macworld-ars-macworld...

I am decidedly unimpressed. The quick summary:

  • iLife '09 has some cool new features like geotagging and face recognition for photos, better movie editing with realtime effects, etc.

  • Apple's doing some cool stuff with pricing... $169 for a bundle of upgrades to Leopard, iLife, and iWork

  • iWork gets online collaboration that looks very polished. Browser-based versions of apps look almost exactly like the real thing.

  • 17-inch MacBook Pro. Matte screen available. $2799 for the base model with a 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo/6MB L2 and 4MB DDR3. Has a battery that Apple claims will run for 7-8 hours. We'll see...

  • iTunes gets tiered pricing. Some songs go for $.69, some for $.99, some for $1.29. Many more available DRM-free. Now you can download direct to your iPhone over 3G, not just Wi-Fi.

And... that's it. No new Mac Minis. No surprise product.

Weak.

I was wondering why the new MacBook Pro was release only in the 15inch version.  Now I have my answer - they needed SOMETHING, ANYTHING to discuss at the keynote.

MAC is really trying to make a big hit with their new products however they are very pricy but great for graphic use.

If Microsoft keeps screwing up MAC will be looking pretty good if Linux doesn't outdo them both

Apple only sale their stuff with Hardware, and I really like Dell, not because of their support, but they got jobs that are awesome when you really need one. And they don't really treat people like tools so, that's why I really recommand strongly Dell! Apple can't beat Dell, anytime.

I really would like a Dell with Mac OS, nothing stops you to buy and install Mac OS X Leopard on a Dell, right. I guess, it is not so possible even if you buy this, you can't install in on a PC and it is why Apple sucks!!! Unless someones tells me : Yes We Can!! With this pack, not any Hackintosh!! I didn't try, but I will, I guess one day, but I'm positive, this will not go. Apple isn't a good deal!

Mac Os X and Ubuntu have nothing Pro to offer, the ability with LDAP isn't as advance than Windows, so starting with this we can forget about security on a network with Domain controlers running AD. Ubuntu is nice at home to have for the fun of it.
