This is an awesome monitor for photo editing. The H-IPS LCD panel makes it considerably more expensive than the TN LCD panel monitors you see in most stores, but then it gives you true 8-bit color and +/-178 degree viewing with no change in color or contrast, neither of which the TN panels can claim.
If you're only interested in gaming, get the cheaper NT panel monitor. If you need true 8-bit color for photo editing applications with response times adequate for most games, I highly recommend this monitor.
