This camera has one of the largest lenses for a pocket camera. It has a 3" view screen and two customizable pre-sets. This is one of the only digital still frame cameras that will allow you to zoom in video mode. The lens will bring in subjects from a long way off. The image stabalizer is gyro-servo based. Like all small pocket cameras it does have issues in dark settings. Dark images have grain and noise issues. The video mode will record true i720 HD files.

This is great "casual" pocket(ish) camera. The zoom is long, but finally, actually gets wide-ish, quite an achievement in a tiny camera, it would seem (35mm equivalent 28mm). Photo quality obviously doesn't match a DSLR, but it's good, and the lens is good... not the weakest link. With the cheapness of SDHC cards, I wish they had included a RAW or TIF option.
The video mode is somewhat useful, but do beware... it's 720/30p, but recorded as motion JPEG, so it's fairly high in compression artifacts, particularly in low light. The original software was a little brain damaged.. it did "still camera focus"... lots of seeking, right there in your video, even when you and the subject are fairly stationary. They fixed this a bit in recent updates, do if you use video, get those updates (in the update, it now restores the zoom position to where you left it when you switch the camera off... useful to a degree).
Today, you might wait for its successor, called TZ7 in Europe, ZS3 in North America. It adds an AVCHD mode for video.. they call this "AVCHD Lite", which seems to mean "no 1080 mode". The quality should be much better in video mode.
