The most professional features in a DSLR DX camera for under $2000. Team this up with the lens of choice for your personal needs and you most likely will never have to purchase another DSLR ever again, unless you decide to go pro with a FX camera, of course.

Why go with a Nikon DSLR? Well, let's see, after careful research and observation of others who are serious enough to plop down a wad of cash to buy an expensive camera I have come to realize the following. People with the resources to buy, but only have the desire to point and shoot on automatic settings buy Canon. More artists and professionals who prefer to shoot P~A~S~M buy Nikons (pronounced "knee-con" by Japanese). Since I wanted to actually learn about the art of photography, I went with Nikon. Honestly, if you spend $1500 or more on a camera, you are going to get a damn good camera no matter the brand. Since I bought a Nikon, I now think it is better. Go figure.

The best Nikon DX camera to date. Only problem is it's not full frame like the D700.
