The barebone Shuttle case by itself cost only $485.00, but of course that won't do. I needed it to meet the Binford 2000 quality specifications by adding components which gave me the best bang for the buck. As it stands my Shuttle rocks every resource hungry game I've thrown at it besides the normal rocket science stuff I have it perform. Why buy a pre-built PC with expensive component upgrades when you can build it yourself and save some money too. Here's the breakdown of the components I've included which came out to a grand total of $1,659.00, not including shipping.
Core2 Quad Q9450 Yorkfield 2.66GHz 1333MHz Socket 775 Quad-Core 45nm
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-Bit English 1pk OEM
Barracuda ES.2 500GB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive, 7200
Black ASUS LightScribe DVR-DRW-2014L1
2 - Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 Dual Channel Memory 800 (PC2-6400)
Linkskey 3.5in 52-in-1 Internal USB2.0 Card Reader, Model: LKA-CR15BW
eVGA GeForce 8800GTS 512MB PCI-E Video CardThe video card barely fit inside. Granted, I had to use a little pressure (okay, a lot) to squeeze it in, but once locked down, it is simply awesome to behold. I still can't believe that it fits. With this setup, I've basically maxed it out, and how sweet it is. There is nothing being offered by Dell, Gateway, Alienware, etc. that can come close to this desktop system for the price, and unlike any of their heavy ass systems, mine is portable. I'm now ready for the next LAN party...who's bringing the Red Bull?
