It's hard to tell one router from another these days, but I've always had decent results with Linksys products. I run a WRT54G at home and haven't had any problems, apart from some initial annoyance at its automated setup apps. Do yourself a favor and use the Windows wireless networking app for your network adapter and the router's config page for setup. Stay away from any installed software.

Good ole faithful. Routher that never let me down. Have owned many of them. However, now I have upgraded. Regardless, I keep one of these on standby just in case.

Excellent router. Easy to configure. DDNS is a bit tricky, I never got it to work correctly. The WRT54GL is hackable (made that way) and Linux firewall OS is available for it.

I have had good luck with it as well. I used the Wireless Ethernet Bridge feature to link two buildings together for a small business. I worked OK. Some of the new routers do not have detachable antenna.

I give only 4 for this, becoz
1. it has some configuration problem with windows(it is difficult to set-up for a common user to utilize all features of the product,
2. In a special way it can be hacked too..All other features are excellent, and is ideal for 24hrs X 7days coninues use. We are using them in our administative section for the past 2 and a half years. No HW or Firmware issues

Seems to be the best bang for the buck even though I have yet to see one of these actually make the warranty date and the technical support for them is a bit difficult to understand espeacially for the common user. It has decent range and ability to change antennaes to extend that range if necessary but speed is relative to range as well as obstructions so it is 6 one way half dozen the other. As for set up it is relative easy if someone new to them were to be walked through it by phone but to use the full range of capabilities and have faith that it would actually return to its saved settings is unlikely. If a common person were to try a plug n play application its DHCP setting might allow it to work temporarily dependant on how the ISP is configured. ISP configuration seems to be the greatest downfall to this I believe being the MOST user friendly router out there Under $69.00 not $49.00 that price is rare to find and mostly for refurbs for direct outlet warehouse purchases like tigerdirect

this is a good model. it lets you modify antenni and OK user management. i do recomend the WRT54GL able to handle Linux if you want the best security though.

In terms of consumer networking hardware, this is the best I have seen. I recommend using DD-WRT on it; the stock OS on this model isn't all that great, but if you use DD-WRT, it is very robust and flexible.

Solid and dependable product. I have had better experiences with Linksys hardware than with any other manufacturer when it comes to home networking. I used this router for three years before giving it over to my sister when I upgraded to an 802.11N network.

Beware of the WRT54G-V5. That variant used VxWorks instead of Linux and less memory, so it could not be loaded with the open source alternatives. Mine seemed to be a little slow, but I was running 3-7 systems into 6Mb/350Kb cable - that is perhaps too demanding. Upgraded to a D-Link DGL4500 and my VOIP got a lot more reliable but that is apples ($45) to hammers ($150).

this is a pretty good router. one thing i like about it is setting up remote desktop was not difficult at all. one thing i dont like about this router is that depending on the version, you cant set your router up with logs.

i have had this product for two years. Original problems but nothing I couldnt work out. Supports five computers without seeing any problems. Range seems to be a little problem when walls are in play but all in all I am very satisfied. As a beginner I had a little difficulty setting up LAN but eventually figured it out. No problems with compatibility. I have XP, Vista, and Linux.

I had this type of linksys product before. And I had some problems with it.
We got this years ago when I had another computer that was going to connect wireless.Only one of the computers would connect. And contacting linksys and bellsouth, they didn't really know how to fix this problem.
I use another linksys router like this, and there are no problems.- Flag as inappropriate
