Description:

Style is personal, so Antec now offers the Sonata Designer 500. This case is whisper quiet when it comes to system noise, with the help of sound-deadening panels and a selectable, 3-speed 120mm case fan that provides the option of maximum cooling or minimal noise. Quiet Computing™ aficionados will appreciate that the Sonata Designer includes a hard drive suspension mounting system that significantly decreases the amount of vibration hard drives transmit to the case. With new High Definition front audio ports, the sound you want to hear comes through crystal clear. It’s all powered by an upgraded EarthWatts™ 500 Watt power supply unit (PSU) which is equipped with universal input and Active PFC. This PSU is 80PLUS® certified making it one of the most efficient PSU’s available. The Sonata Designer is the perfect combination of style, silence and efficiency.

My current home-built PC has been in an Antec Sonata 500 for the last year or so, and I have no complaints. It's a very quiet case in general, and it can border on silent if you pay attention to component choice. Build quality is great.

I am not actually using the case, just the power supply. This is TOO cool! I just bought a new computer last week, and bought this exact power supply to upgrade the factory PSU. I don't know about the case, but I can't hear the computer running at all--even when I play F.E.A.R. or the CRYSIS demo!! Great product; wonderful price!
The price was also good for the computer, but factory stuff wasn't quite what I wanted,so I also bought 2GB/OCZ High Performance Memory, and an EVGA e-GeForce 9600GT video card.
    I also got $90.00 in rebates! :o)
I absolutely ADORE my new video card! (The reason for the upgraded power--It needs at least 400 watts; computer came with 300w PSU.)

I used this to build my PC and other than it not quite fitting into my cubby, its excellent.

I use this case in my current home-built desk top. The case is well built, easily accessed, and very quite if you choose your components appropriately, specifically the graphics card. I tried originally tried a passively cooled card which overheated easily requiring me to up the case fan to its highest level. If definitely was not quite then. I replaced the card and all is now well.
