If my house were on fire, would I save my pets or my powerbook? Oh ... ah ... um ... who am I kidding - I'd save my pets. But I'd be devastated for the rest of my life (or until I accumulated another 3 big) over the loss of my other half - my powerbook.

Bunny, I am so jealous of you. I so want one of these machines. Love the look, feel, functionality, and OS. You lucky dog, you... The only con is, the PRICE is way too high. Apple, please drop it down a bit, quite a bit!

Bought one for my kid who is majoring in journalism in college and I was amaze at how easy it was to configure and how smooth the operating systems is. But I do know that the OS is a form of Linux/Unix.
Very nice 17inch screen and comes with two CD/DVD drives, one is slot-based and all you do is insert the CD.
Also comes with tons of great software and a really niffty built in web cam

I use both Mac and PCs in my work and, although I really don't mind using either, I gravitate to the Mac for creative projects. Particularly for anything video related. The tools are easier to use and I'm much more satisfied with the results.
