I have a MacBook Air and it is the great laptop that I ever owned. The O/S stability is second to none and with VMware - you can use Windows O/S in its own window, where it rightfully should be.

Had a PowerBook G4 that lasted me nearly 4 long years before dying and never ever had to re-install or repair the O/S... It died... and was quickly replaced by a MacBook (Black model, off-the-shelf configuration), my first Apple w/ Intel chips in it.

It rocks!!! speed is good (BTW, this isn't a gaming machine, I do coding/dev. in Java and VB/VBA/VC#), stability is out of this world... and versatility, let me tell you about versatility my friends... this thing should be painted red with that white cross on it.

I'm running Mac OS (obviously), but using Parallels, I'm also running both Win XP and Vista without any problems at all and have started getting my feet wet with Linux (added Ubuntu 8.04.1) - I essentially have the best of each world as there's very little that this little baby won't do.

I work with 2003 networks daily, and the best trouble free laptop I have every purchased is the MacBook. Sure I can have the government issue me a baseline approved PC laptop, but why? My MacBook has been with me all over the US and Buenos Aires, Argentina, and has provided me with superb performance at home and on the road.

I sport a MacBook White 2.4Ghz with 4GB RAM and an upgraded 7200rpm 250GB HD. I, too, run Parallels with XP on occasion when I need to do stuff that isn't available in Mac version software, but usually I save that work for my home Shuttle PC or my work PC. When I hit the road with my MacBook, I prefer to carry it with my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer emblazoned messenger bag to piss off all my "PC Rules" colleagues at work and at play.

What can I say that hasn't already been said, I bought one for my daughter and recently upgraded it to 4-gig of RAM. This has been the best laptop, in the last 2-years for work I have been through 2-ThinkPads, and an HP. I am at the point of moving my work machine to either a closeout version of this MacBook or the newer aluminum one so I can actually have a reliable work machine.
