I reject the base assertion that women and men are substantively different in ways that make it desirable to increase the proportion of one to the other, especially in the tech industry. What we need are more people who are passionate about technology, intelligent, and creative; men or women, it doesn't matter. If there are barriers to women who otherwise meet these qualifications then by all means let's tear them down and the faster the better. Simply having more vaginas in proportion to penises, all other things being equal, is unlikely to have a positive impact.

Hey, I got a female hired at my school district for tech. Me and her were "good" friends in college. Both of us got our degrees in Computer maintenance & networking.
