    I should add that I do get a lot of bruises in places where there is no padding, but bruises are badges of honor and not considered "getting hurt" in hockey. :-)

    I rarely get hurt playing hockey. Not only do all the pads help a lot, but I play at a low enough level that it's no-check. That isn't to say that it doesn't get rough out there sometimes, but not as violent as your typical NHL game would be. We're all decidedly amateurs and are out there to have fun and keep in shape. We have day jobs to go back to in the morning. :-)
