About Me
I'm a professional engineer (CEng and MBCS CITP as well as a professional member of the IEEE) with experience of designing, building, commissioning and operating control and information systems for various industrial sectors. I read The Economist and various engineering and Tech journals. I'm not a tech head in that I don't have to own the latest gadget though I like to read about them; I still have a CRT TV and my games console is still a Playstation 2...Since added a 52" LCD TV and a PlayStation3, so I probably talked too soon :) My favourite drinks are Tea, Irn Bru and Stella Artois, but not neccessarilly in that order. I have a small number of close friends and I believe that quality is always better than quantity. I love to travel and have worked and lived in Finland and Australia as well as in the UK. At the moment the wanderlust has taken hold again and I'm looking to start a new career that will allow me to travel. Becoming recently unemployed has also been something of an incentive for a new career :) I also post comments to www.guardian.co.uk as TheNuclearOption.

Blogging, Reading, Writing poetry, fell walking in the English Lakes between making dragons sit on the naughty step and polishing armour.

    Ha forgot what day it was my watch still showed it as the third. Yes Happy 4th of July to my American chums. We don't bear grudges however there are some things we can't forgive. You may say "remember Pearl Harbour" but we say "remember Boston Harbour" and then discuss the horror of adding tea to non boiling water...Oh the humanity :P
