About Me
Fortunately for me, I've known what I wanted to do since high school - hence over 36 years in the business (since good old punched cards), and wrote my first Fortran code on the engineering campus in a civil engineering programming class at the university of Illinois in Urbana because there was no CS/MIS curriculum then. My first real job was as an Assembler programmer trainee at Allstate Insurance in Chicago. After about a year of that, Motorola for 4.5 years where I learned COBOL via Deltak courses, and then to my longest term job in Dallas, TX,for 20 years with Texas Instruments. Retired from Texas Instruments with a full pension and still have my health insurance there - but lasted less than 6 months before going back to work as a Reuse Business Consultant for about a year, then recruited by Rational Software for a short-lived spin-off start-up as a Principal Consultant until we were acquired by IBM. Then moved on as a VP of about $60M Application Tools Product Management within a $120M SW business, and finally the past 4 years as a consultant reporting to the VP of Americas Consulting in one of the two biggest Outsourcing Company.
