The master of business administration, or MBA, is often considered the top degree in the business world. In the IT industry, it’s one gateway to the upper ranks of the profession. As IT becomes a more integrated part of most businesses, IT staffers with business skills are becoming sought-after as managers. Workers with communication skills and business knowledge in addition to specialized IT skills are better-equipped to become managers and move to the upper levels of their organizations.

Some companies will provide tuition assistance or reimbursement in exchange for your commitment to continue working for them after you earn your degree.

I looked around and found that while I don't get the prestige of a major university on my sheepskin the degree is the same. I chose a smaller school because they were cheaper and the program was on a better time table than quitting my job for two years to complete.
