15 Stupidest Ways to Lose Your Job

Zac Frank and Tania Khadder

Sometimes, a person will lose their job through no fault of their own. The whims of a psychotic boss, an economy in shambles, or a simple misunderstanding can have an otherwise satisfactory employee packing up his or her cubicle.

Other times, a person will lose their job because they have done something so incredibly foolish, you wonder how they ever got the job in the first place.

This article is about those people.

I remember the story about the woman dying from drinking too much water. So sad. She was trying to win the Wii for her kids.

The dispatcher at Comcast who put one of their own technicians on hold so long that he fell asleep should have been canned first.

A friend of mine was a sportscaster on a local TV station. He was perfect for the job; he was a rabid fan, so much of one that it got him fired. He was watching the final game of the national collegiate basketball championship that was being carried on another network until the last second before he had to go on the air. He was so charged up about the game that he opened his segment with, "Oh, MAN! You guys oughta SEE what's going on over on CBS!!!" Of course, all his viewers switched over to see, and the station manager fired him during the first commercial break.

Arguably, employees probably shouldn't be in people's faces (pun intended) with their religion on the job either.

    The Can

At a party one of the guys held his water until the bigwig from the previous acquisitor who bought us finished speaking. He went to the can and remarked that he didn't know when the director would quit speaking. The director had also gone to the can.... Fortunately the man was not canned. Happy ending.

So was the coffee cop fired? The story doesn't say. I'll bet he wasn't because fascist cops are usually NOT held accountable for their abuses.

Firewalls don't save you if the attacker is within, and stories
of blunders aren't limited to those outside InsideTech. Someone
liked a story so much it got posted as an example of foolishness.
The only problem was that it was the poster, not the subject of the
article who was foolish. Yes, the teacher did a magic trick, but
that's not why he was fired:

    Moral of the Story
Fact-check. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

    Bonus Moral
Be very, very careful of what you believe FOXnews.
